Job Summary :-

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient ServiceNow Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation related to ServiceNow implementations, workflows, and integrations.

This role requires strong writing, process mapping, and analytical skills to translate complex technical concepts into clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation.

The ServiceNow Technical Writer will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, architects, and project managers to document system configurations, process flows, integration details, and user guides. The candidate will also assist in requirement-gathering sessions, functional discussions, and knowledge management activities to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation.

This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for writing, an analytical mindset, and a keen interest in ServiceNow and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.

Key Responsibilities :-

  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain various technical documents, including:
    • High-Level Design (HLD) & Low-Level Design (LLD) documents
    • Technical solution design & process flow documentation
    • Integration and configuration documents
    • User guides, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), FAQs, and training materials
    • PowerPoint presentations for stakeholders, leadership teams, and end-users
  • Collaboration with Teams: Work with developers, architects, and business analysts to document ServiceNow system workflows, design specifications, and integration processes.
  • Requirement Gathering Support: Participate in requirement gathering and stakeholder discussions, translating complex technical conversations into structured documentation.
  • Diagramming & Process Mapping: Create technical diagrams, architecture diagrams, and data flow charts using tools like Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or Draw.io.
  • Knowledge Base Management: Maintain best practices, templates, document repositories, and knowledge base articles for ServiceNow implementations.
  • Reporting & Release Documentation: Assist in preparing reports, release notes, project updates, and status documentation for ongoing ServiceNow projects.
  • Continuous Improvement: Update and enhance documentation based on feedback, new features, and process changes.

Required Skills & Qualifications :-

  • Understanding of ServiceNow ITSM modules or experience with ServiceNow (prior training or exposure is a plus).
  • Strong technical writing skills with the ability to structure complex information in a simple and readable manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and documentation tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, and Google Docs.
  • Ability to translate technical discussions into well-structured documents for various audiences, including developers, end-users, and management.
  • Basic knowledge of ITSM processes, including Incidents, Changes, Problems, and Service Requests.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to learn new technologies and grasp technical concepts quickly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.

Preferred Qualifications :-

  • Experience with technical writing best practices, documentation formatting, and diagramming tools.
  • Exposure to ServiceNow modules beyond ITSM, such as ITOM, HRSD, or CSM.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and service management principles.
  • Prior internship or hands-on experience in technical documentation related to ServiceNow, ITSM, or IT operations.
  • ServiceNow CSA (Certified System Administrator) certification or any relevant ServiceNow certification is an added advantage.
