Role Description

The ServiceNow DevOps Engineer will be responsible for implementing and managing DevOps solutions on the ServiceNow platform, with a primary focus on CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) processes, infrastructure management, and automation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with ServiceNow integrations, webhooks, and change management workflows, as well as a deep understanding of agile methodologies. This role may also involve managing a team of DevOps engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive infrastructure optimization, implement best practices, and deliver high-quality ServiceNow solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive CI/CD implementation for infrastructure and security management, integrating with ServiceNow and other tools using APIs and webhooks.
  • Led the development and management of ServiceNow DevOps pipelines and workflows, ensuring efficient build, deployment, and operations processes.
  • Bring agile methodologies and automation practices to infrastructure operations and code development, optimizing service delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging security technologies, vulnerabilities, risks, and trends to implement best security practices and infrastructure optimization.
  • Manage a team of 4-6 DevOps engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Develop and implement formal team processes, metrics, and operational goals; drive adoption of these processes and measure performance against set objectives.
  • Coordinate and report on key team results, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, development, and support teams to deliver high-quality solutions and meet project deadlines.
  • Identify, communicate, and recommend best practices for DevOps operations, infrastructure management, and continuous improvement.
  • Use critical thinking to address complex and ambiguous problems with innovative solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 6+ years of hands-on DevOps experience, with a focus on the build, deploying, and managing infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of experience managing DevOps teams and driving technical projects.
  • Advanced experience with ServiceNow integrations, change management, and workflow configurations.
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration, scripting (Python, Shell, Go), and file system management.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and platform operations, deployments, and DevOps best practices.
  • Experience with high-traffic workloads on distributed systems, preferably with Java-based applications.
  • Proven ability to drive architectural discussions and influence technical decisions to simplify and optimize infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with public cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon EC2, and related infrastructure concepts (IP networking, load balancers, block and file storage, etc.).
  • Working understanding of related internet protocols (DNS, LDAP, NTP, SMTP, HTTP).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Additional Requirements (Plus)

  • Working knowledge of container technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with network technologies and troubleshooting network issues.
  • Knowledge of JVM-based applications and performance engineering is a plus.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance optimization for distributed systems.
  • Experience participating in compliance audits and ensuring adherence to security controls.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Experience with ServiceNow DevOps module and integration with external tools is a plus.
