Role Description

The ServiceNow SPM Developer will be responsible for configuring and developing the ServiceNow platform to meet business requirements. While the primary focus of this role is Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM/Formerly ITBM), the candidate will also contribute to other ServiceNow modules as needed. This role involves transforming business needs into scalable solutions, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring seamless integration with client systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and configure all aspects of SPM, including Project Portfolio Management (PPM), Enterprise Agile Planning, and Strategic Planning modules.
  • Manage and develop solutions for Project, Program, and Portfolio Management; Resource and Financial Planning; Demand and Timesheet Management.
  • Implement solutions for Agile Development, Lean Portfolio Management, Digital Product Management, and Test Management.
  • Configure and manage Strategic Planning solutions such as Roadmap Planning, Scenario Planning, Investment Funding, Innovation Management, and Capacity Planning.
  • Develop and implement Application Portfolio Management (APM) solutions to support application lifecycle management and rationalization.
  • Develop integrations with other Client systems/applications using API, Integration Hub, and ETL tools for data import/export and transformation.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for configurations and customizations; provide support for ServiceNow upgrades and new releases.
  • Design and implement dashboards, reports, and KPIs for various SPM modules to provide insights for business decision-making.
  • Apply Agile and Lean methodologies to all stages of ServiceNow development, ensuring high-quality delivery.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years of ServiceNow development experience, with at least 2 years of experience in ServiceNow SPM (formerly ITBM).
  • Strong knowledge of Project Portfolio Management (PPM), including Demand, Project, Program, Portfolio, Resource, and Financial Planning.
  • Experience with Enterprise Agile solutions such as Agile Development, Lean Portfolio Management, Digital Product Management, and Test Management.
  • Expertise in Strategic Planning modules such as Roadmap Planning, Scenario Planning, Investment Funding, and Innovation Management.
  • Strong experience with data management, including import/export transformations and using tools such as JSON, APIs, and ETL solutions.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow development tools such as workflows, business rules, and scripts.
  • Experience with Performance Analytics and the creation of reports and KPIs.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and experience working in global settings.
  • ServiceNow certification in SPM/ITBM is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with global teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn new concepts quickly.

Additional Requirements (Plus)

  • Proven experience in implementing ServiceNow SPM within large organizations.
  • Experience working with ServiceNow integrations, change management, and workflow configurations.
  • Hands-on experience in creating Update Sets, migrating data between environments, and performing unit testing.
  • A strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) and other ServiceNow modules is a plus.
  • Prior involvement in integrating ServiceNow with third-party applications using REST, SOAP, or other methodologies.
